Soul Köfte: Oriental Soul Food

❤️ Jordanian soul food in Zurich? Yes, you can get it at Soul Köfte on Langstrasse and it's probably familiar to some from the food truck or street food festival.

Apo Aziz and Jason Anto are the two founders and are known for their freshly baked pita bread 👏 and juicy beef köfte. These land on a plate either as a wrap, bowl or served with taboulé salad, fried potatoes, hummus and rice. Each guest gets a tea to finish, which is best enjoyed with a piece of baklava.

I was very pleased to meet Apo in person. He is originally from Berlin Kreuzberg and has always been interested in his mother's family recipes. Visibly proud of her offspring, she and her husband have been given a place of honour in the restaurant, namely at the picture gallery created by Apo himself among many Hollywood stars and films shot in Jordan. 

For all vegans, there are crispy falafel balls instead of köfte.
