In love with Huberta, the neighborhood pub on Hubertus
Concept Huberta
With Restaurant Huberta, Zurich District 9 has gained a new neighborhood restaurant at the beginning of 2026 that quickly built a loyal following. Located right by Hubertus, the restaurant combines honest cooking with a modern interpretation of Swiss classics. It is not trying to be fine dining, yet you immediately notice how much craftsmanship goes into every dish.
Behind the concept are Mirjam Eberle and Nina Wild, two chefs who created a place where great food and genuine hospitality take center stage. What makes it even more special is that the team is intentionally made up of women. Their goal was to create a neighborhood restaurant that feels modern while still offering that cozy atmosphere where you naturally want to stay a little longer.
You can feel exactly that when you step inside. The interior feels warm, modern, and effortlessly relaxed. It is a mix of a stylish neighborhood restaurant and a casual meeting spot where you can stop by for a glass of wine or spend an entire evening.
Huberta describes itself as honest, cozy, and bold, and that sums it up perfectly.
Food at Huberta
The kitchen at Restaurant Huberta focuses on seasonal ingredients and Swiss classics that are reinterpreted in a modern way. The menu changes regularly, which keeps things exciting even if you visit more than once.
You will not find an overloaded menu here, but rather a carefully curated selection of dishes where the ingredients take center stage. Comfort food meets modern influences and creative combinations.
What I really like is that the dishes feel approachable and uncomplicated, yet still manage to surprise you with their flavors. That combination makes Huberta one of the most exciting new restaurants in Zurich right now.
The wine list also fits perfectly with the concept and makes it easy to extend your evening a little longer.
My Recommendations at Huberta
Since the menu changes seasonally, I would definitely recommend staying open minded and letting yourself be surprised.
A perfect evening here means ordering several dishes to share at the table so you can try as much as possible. Add a glass of wine and make sure to bring some time with you.
If you work nearby or happen to be in the area during the day, their lunch is also worth trying. Especially in Albisrieden, there are not endless exciting lunch options, and Huberta is a great new spot for that.
What I personally love most about Huberta is that it does not feel like a typical trendy restaurant. It feels more like a modern neighborhood spot that serves really great food and quickly makes you want to come back.
